Situated at a geographical crossroads, directly linked to regional major cities Caen and Rennes, and beyond to the south of England as well as to the A 84 motorway which connects the north of France to Spain, Saint-Lô and its suburbs have benefited from a dynamic economy for more than 10 years; its employment catchment area experiences the lowest unemployment rate in Lower Normandy.
The commercial property policy which was introduced has facilitated real growth, an economic revival: the creation of business parks and a service park, an incubator for very small service companies, a non-specialist incubator for traditional activities and small industries, an agribusiness incubator, five workshops and the construction of a workshop for the CEV group, Chèque Déjeuner (meal voucher).
